The Roots of Scripture: A New Book by Dr. Nicolae Roddy

OCABS Press is pleased to announce the publication of a new book by our colleague and brother, Dr. Nicolae Roddy, “The Roots of Scripture.”  By way of introduction to his book:

“In the aftermath of the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem in the sixth century B.C., a community of exiled priestly scribes laboring under the influence of Judah's most troubling prophets sought to answer the question, "What went wrong?" Building on the paradigm of idolatry as “forgetting God,” they present the prophetic denunciation of misplaced trust in human institutions, all of which inevitably fail. Their warning of earthly impermanence is timeless; for now, as then, we must look toward the God of Scripture and away from misguided ego and the works of our hands. This book serves as a prelude to Fr. Paul Tarazi's Rise of Scripture, also available from OCABS Press.”
