The Orthodox Center For The Advancement of Biblical Studies (OCABS) is an IRS approved 501 © non-profit corporation established in the State of CT.

The Orthodox The Orthodox Center for the Advancement of Biblical Studies (OCABS) was established to educate, inspire and challenge the faithful to recognize the centrality of sound biblical interpretation for life in Christ.

OCABS began as an informal gathering of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary alumni in 1999 to pursue advanced biblical studies through annual meetings. The members recognized that additional resources were necessary to augment their seminary education and enhance their various ministries in the Orthodox Church. With this in mind, a pan-Orthodox non-profit organization was established to develop, promote and publish research in the areas of biblical studies, homiletics and religious education in the Orthodox Christian Faith.

The last 50 years have seen a wonderful renewal in the areas of liturgy, music, iconography, patristics, and monasticism. OCABS is part of a growing community of faithful in the Orthodox Church who are embracing the same renewal in the development of serious Scriptural studies and preaching.

Till I come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, to teaching.
